The Twenty-five Francs denomination of the Swiss Franc was used for the first time in 2022 to issue a non-circulating platinum coin. This was then followed by a gold 25 CHF coin with the specifications of an earlier gold 25 Francs pattern made between 1955 and 1959 which was never released.
Given that Switzerland has four official languages, the Franc has three different names: Franken in German, franc in French and Romansh, and franco in Italian.
These coins are non-circulating legal tender made for collectors. |
