This 2019 $5 silver coin is dedicated to the mutiny on the famous

sailing ship HMS Bounty

in 1789. The coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from an ounce 99.9% silver in proof quality. The issue is limited to only 1,500 pieces worldwide. The Bounty was a small merchant vessel that the Royal Navy purchased for a botanical mission. The ship was sent to the Pacific Ocean under the command of William Bligh to acquire breadfruit plants. That mission was never completed due to a mutiny led by acting lieutenant Fletcher Christian in 1789. The coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of the Royal Australian Mint.
