Two dollar coins were issued for the Bahamas in 1975 in three varieties:
- silver proof (mintage 45,000).
- cupronickel special quality (mintage 8,810). These are polished or proof-like in appearance, without any frosted features.
- cupronickel matte coins (mintage 300). These are a normal circulation strike or a dull finish produced by sandblasting special uncirculated (polish finish) or proof quality dies.
Given that a) the silver proof coins have a higher mintage, and b) they continue the tradition of the earlier series, they are listed as the "regular" coin for 1975 and the cupronickel pieces as varieties. |
