This legend was displayed on coinage of the Bahamas between 1966 and 1970 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II in her capacity as Queen of the Bahamas. On later coinage, her legend was changed to COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMA ISLANDS ELIZABETH II, then mention of her was altogether omitted and current coinage displays the legend COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS [year] instead.
