Ten Lepta 1830, Coin from Greece - detailed information

The obverse of the coin features within a solid or beaded circle a phoenix bird rising from the flames, head to turned left. Above the head of the phoenix is a cross. Around, ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ αωκαʹ, with a six-pointed start dividing the words ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ (translation: Greek State).

αωκαʹ in the old Greek dating system stands for 1821, the year of the Greek uprising which resulted in the birth of the independent state of Greece.

At centre, the denomination 10 ΛΕΠΤΑ (10 Lepta) within laurel and olive branches. Around, ΚΥΒΕΡΝΗΤΗΣ Ι. Α. ΚΑΠΟΔΙΣΤΡΙΑΣ (Governor I. A. Kapodistrias). Below, the date 1830.
