Silver Ounce 2021 Retrofuturism - Rocket, Coin from Solomon Islands - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend and the face value: ELIZABETH II SOLOMON ISLANDS 2 DOLLARS 2021.

The portrait and the surrounding rim with the inscription are small and are in the centre of the obverse, surrounded by orbital lines and on a background imitating a printed circuit board.

The date of issue is a above; below, the unique serial number of each coin.

The design features a retrofuturistic rocket soaring through space, with a planet surrounded by rings in the background, and another planet below the rocket.

On the right, the inscription RETROFUTURISM.

In smaller letters around below, the precious metal content: 1 TROY OUNCE 999.9 SILVER.
