Obverse: The obverse depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, framed within a circle accompanied by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "SOLOMON ISLANDS" and "2 DOLLARS." The surrounding, irregular shaped field area is ornamented with a winter wonderland of snowflakes in a delightful array of sizes and shapes. Mr. Rank-Broadley is an award winning British sculptor, whose portrait of the Queen first appeared on coinage in 1998.
Reverse: The reverse features a stylized, colorized portrayal of Santa Claus, looking forward with a bright smile, rosy cheeks and curling white beard, while wearing his signature red cap. The cap's pompom is inscribed with "2020" and "9999 AG 1 T OZ" in red lettering.
