2023 Six-Coin Fine Silver Proof Year Set, Coin Set from Australia - detailed information

This is a silver proof version of the mint set of the Australian circulation coins that were supposed to be issued in 2023. Unlike the sets in base metals, it contains the definitive "Mob of Roos" $1 coin and not a commemorative.

This set was released during the reign of King Charles III; however, as his effigy was not expected to be approved for use in Australia until late in the year, the coins in it feature a "memorial" obverse with the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the dates of her reign, 1952 - 2022. Coins with this obverse were only made for collectors; none were issued for circulation.
