A scalloped coin with a smooth edge weighing 5.18g, measuring 23.50mm in diameter, and 1.80mm in thickness, bearing on the obverse the Coat-of-Arms of The Bahamas together with the words “Commonwealth of The Bahamas” which form a crown around the Coat-of-Arms. Below the Coat-of-Arms is the year that the coin was minted. On the reverse is a depiction of two bonefish swimming, together with the text "10 CENTS".
According to Krause, the Bahamas ten cent coins issued between 1974 and 2005 weighed 5.13g. Earlier and later coins are 5.54g.
The Central Bank of The Bahamas though gives the weight as 5.18g.
