The design shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.
In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).
Around the effigy are the monarch's legend, the face value, and the date: ELIZABETH II 30 DOLLARS COOK ISLANDS 2012.
Below the effigy, on three lines the inscription specifying the precious metal content: 1000 g COIN FINE SILVER 999,9.
Below that, the logo of the manufacturer, which depicts the small figure of a man pouring molten metal, and the year the company was founded - 1845. Further down, the name of the manufacturer, HEIMERLE + MEULE. |
