Coin | Angel Coin Set 1994 Medal |

|
Medals are a form of "exonumia" - objects related to coinage but not coins themselves. Such are, for example, the medals included in some coin sets, or promotional and commemorative pieces using coin-like formats. They do not have any "face value" and are not tokens either, but can still be of interest to coin collectors.
This medal was included in a special set marking the 10th anniversary of the Angel bullion range, and its transition from one reverse design to another. |

At centre, surrounded by a wreath, the reverse shows two depictions of the Angel bullion coin series - on the left, the original design with a left-facing Saint Michael spearing the dragon with a Celtic motif around the rim, and on the right - the design introduced in 1994, with a right-facing Archangel spearing the dragon within a plain rim.
Above, a small shield with the triskele symbol (which is the Coat of Arms of the Isle of Man). Below that, the inscription 1984 - 1994.
