In her left hand Britannia holds a trident, while her right hand supports a shield carrying the Union Jack and inscribed BRITANNIA along the horizontal stripe.

The background is textured with a pattern of small waves.

The reverse shows on top the logo of the Royal Mint, which incorporates a crowned Shield of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom. On three lines to the right, The Royal Mint ®.
