The Royal Mint of the United Kingdom, which makes the country's circulating coinage, is also very active in the bullion coinage space and issues many bullion coins which are legal tender.

Additionally, it also makes bullion which is not legal tender and is targeted at investors and not at coin collectors - such as this one.

The Mint says about this product:
"The Royal Mint is home to some of the greatest artists to have worked on British coinage. Producing works of consummate genius, some of these artists’ most famous designs now feature as part of The Great Engravers Collection in re-imagined designs for discerning investors who appreciate numismatic art. Inspired by the resurgence of interest in classical art during the early nineteenth century, William Wyon RA recast the daughters of Zeus as three figures representing the recently united nations of England, Scotland and Ireland in his Three Graces design. Skilfully reinterpreted on a bar by Daniel Thorne in homage to the original, this new design symbolises the reputation and history that underpins our precious metals offering."

Key Features:
- The second design in the Great Engravers bullion bar series (after Una and the Lion).
- A modern homage to William Wyon’s original Three Graces design.
- Struck in 999.9 fine silver, which is reflected in the bar’s inscription.

The bar is "minted" (struck using minting techniques similar to a coin, and not cast in the way that larger investment products are).

United Kingdom / Silver One Hundred Ounces Bar 2022 Three Graces - obverse photo

The obverse shows at its centre the allegorical figures of the Three Graces. In ancient mythology, the Three Graces were daughters of Zeus - Euphrosyne, Aglaea and Thalia - who were said to represent youth/beauty, mirth, and elegance. On British coinage the figures are interpreted as England, Scotland and Ireland forming a union (in 1801).

Above and below, an ancient Greek decorative pattern. There is no inscription.
