Coin | Two Pounds 1826 (Proof only) |
---|
|
The reform of 1817 terminated all guinea-denominated issues in favour of the sovereign. Large size gold issues resumed for the first time since the 1750's, but the two and five pound pieces were minted mostly for presentation.
This coin was issued as Proof FDC only this year, not for general circulation. |
