Regular New Zealand five cent coins featured a tuatara (lizard-like reptile) on the reverse. The only exception were these coins, issued with the 150th Anniversary mint sets with a mintage of 10,000. There was also an "off-metal" proof issue in silver, with mintage of 7,000. Silver coins weigh 3.27g. The regular mint sets of the year featured the traditional five cent coin with a tuatara design. The five cents denomination was demonetised on 1 November 2006. | ||||||
