Niue, a sovereign state in free association with New Zealand, uses two official legal tender currencies. The New Zealand Dollar is the circulation currency for daily transactions, while the government also authorises legal tender coins in the Niue Dollar currency for collector's purposes.

A number of mints issue a large variety of commemorative, bullion and collector coins under the authority of Niue. These coins are dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to Niue itself. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes based on the troy ounce, but some are in the metric system, such as one hundred grams (100 g) of silver.

This silver bar made by the Pressburg Mint is Niue legal tender, and is the fourth design in a series of such bars. It is an amalgamation of a banknote, a coin and a bar, and features a modern design produced with a combination of casting and laser engraving.

The reverse of the bar is styled like a banknote.

Below right, it shows the Public Seal of Niue. It has what looks like a plant arrangement at centre, within a double ornamental circle, itself surrounded by a circle of sea shells. This is crowned with St Edward's Crown (a symbol of the United Kingdom, the monarch of which is ultimately the Head of State of Niue).Around above between the two, the inscription PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE. Below that, a ribbon carries the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI on two lines, below which two crossed katoua (Niue fighting clubs).

On the left, the nominal face value 5 DOLLARS, below which in small letters SILVERNOTE 2025. Vertically on the right, NIUE ISLAND and the numeral value 5 again. In the right field, a human face formed from thin lines.

Near the rim above, the unique serial number of each bar in the form # XXXX / 3000, below which a security code.

Below left, the inscription 100 G FINE SILVER 9999 (one hundred grams of 99.99% silver) above.
