Silver Two Ounces 2022 Triceratops, Coin from Solomon Islands - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend, the date of issue and the value: ELIZABETH II SOLOMON ISLANDS 5 DOLLARS 2022.

The portrait and the surrounding rim with the inscription are small and at the centre of the obverse. The rest represents the skeleton of the dinosaur.

Below right, the precious metal content: 2 OZ 999.9 Ag (two troy ounces of 99.99% silver).

On the left, in the lower part of the dinosaur's neck, the unique serial number of the coin.

The dinosaur is depicted in exquisite detail on the front of the silver coin, with enormous muscles and strong bones that make up this massive reptile.

The dinosaur's name TRICERATOPS can be discovered in small letters beneath its tail.
