Silver Two Ounces 2022 America the Free - Statue of Liberty, Coin from Solomon Islands - detailed information

The obverse shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend and the date: ELIZABETH II * SOLOMON ISLANDS * 2022 * 5 DOLLARS.

The portrait and the surrounding rim with the inscription are small and at the centre of the obverse. The rest displays text from the New Colossus bronze plaque, signed below Emma Lazarus, November 2, 1883..

In a decoration below left, the face value $5 (five dollars). Above, on the back of the torch, the unique serial number of the coin.

The reverse of the coin depicts, and is shaped as, the Statue of Liberty in New York. Part of the robe that Liberty is wearing is coloured as the American flag.

On the pedestal below, the inscription AMERICA THE FREE. In smaller letters below that, the precious metal content: 2 OZ 999.9 Ag (two troy ounces of 99.99% silver).
