Crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (by Vladimir Gottwald). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Ian Rank-Broadley portraits, and the King Faisal of Saudi Arabia Necklace.

A small G in a circle under the portrait represents the artist's initial.

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend and the date: ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2010.

The reverse of the coin depicts a lyrebird seen facing left, with its tail plumes expanded forward over its head.

The denomination numeral 10 [cents] is above the head of the bird; the artist's initials SD (for Stuart Devlin) are in (very) tiny letters below, in the right field beside its foot.
