|Coin||Silver Ounce 2001 Quadriga|
The Democratic Republic of the Congo normally uses banknotes for circulation, and does not issue coins in the Congolese Franc currency. However, the country has authorised some foreign mints to issue commemorative and bullion coins under its jurisdiction.
Most of them are in standard bullion sizes, including one ounce of silver - such as this coin.
This coin commemorates the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
The obverse of the coin shows at its centre a male lion walking to left, his head turned towards the viewer.

The reverse of the coin is concave. The design shows a quadriga - Ancient chariot drawn by four horses; the chariot driver has a laurel wreath.
Around above left, the inscription JEUX OLYMPIQUES 2004 ATHÈNES (2004 Olympic Games in Athens).
