Coin | Silver Ounce 2019 Predators - Canis Lupus |
---|
|
The Democratic Republic of the Congo normally uses banknotes for circulation, and does not issue coins in the Congolese Franc currency. However, the country has authorised some foreign mints to issue commemorative and bullion coins under its jurisdiction.
Most of them are in standard bullion sizes, including one ounce of silver - such as this coin.
This design is the first issue in the Predators Series, and is dedicated to the Wolf.
The wolf (Canis lupus) is the largest predator of the dog family. Early on wolves found their way into the myths and tales of many peoples. Since the end of the 20th century, the wolf has been under protection in many countries. This coin features four different minting techniques. The footprint is done in incuse minting and reverse proof, the wolf and mud are done in matt finish and the background in proof. |
