Draped bust of King George III wearing a large crown facing right; on the bust truncation, raised letter K in cursive script (the initial of the designer Conrad Heinrich Küchler); around, the monarch's legend GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX (translated from Latin: George the Third, by the Grace of God, King).

Figure of Britannia, draped, seated on rock facing left holding trident and extending an olive branch; resting at right, an oval shield bearing the crosses of St. George ans St. Andrew with heraldic colouring (i.e. light stripes representing the colour of each field); in the background at left a three masted sailing ship. Around above, the legend BRITANNIA; around below, the date 1799.

The mint mark SOHO of the Soho Mint is raised on the ground near the shield.
