Silver Ounce 2022 Fender Stratocaster, Coin from Solomon Islands - detailed information

Apart from its regular circulating coinage, Solomon Islands has authorised a number of private mints to issue collector coins in precious metals, which are legal tender in the country but are not intended for general circulation. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). These are usually dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to the country itself.

Established in 1946, Fender has become a cultural icon in its own right and champions The Spirit of Rock-n-Roll for all music lovers, from young guitarists just learning to play to legendary musicians. In Fender's early days the right type of tint and varnish was hard to come by. Thanks to the very same paint used on the famous 1956 Chevy, Surf Green became one of the fan-favourites for the Stratocaster. This 1oz pure silver guitar shaped coin captures this vibrant retro colour perfectly, a nod to the Stratocaster originals!

Individually serialised and housed in a custom capsule this coin is limited to a mintage of 6,000 pieces worldwide.
