Silver Ounce 2022 Nutcracker - Clara, Coin from Solomon Islands - detailed information

Apart from its regular circulating coinage, Solomon Islands has authorised a number of private mints to issue collector coins in precious metals, which are legal tender in the country but are not intended for general circulation. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). These are usually dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to the country itself.

This coin is part of a PAMP Suisse range of specially shaped coins, and depicts the Clara from the famous children's story The Nutcracker.

This captivating coin is the second release in the Nutcracker series, it comes uniquely shaped like the charismatic character “Clara” and is beautifully colourised on the reverse. Each Clara coin is shipped inside a beautifully illustrated package that contains descriptions of the character, the plot, as well as the certificate of authenticity; all printed on small booklets. 

The Nutcracker is a two-act ballet choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Clara is the undoubted heroine of the ballet. Her grace and resolve is reflected in a 1oz pure silver legal tender coin applied with vibrant colour and housed in a special ornament-style hanger capsule.
