Gold Ounce 2022 Queen Elizabeth II Accession, Coin from Tokelau - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend, the date of issue and the value: 100 DOLLARS · 2022 TOKELAU · ELIZABETH II · 1oz 9999 GOLD.

The inscription around the rim also incorporates the precious metal content - one troy ounce of 99.99% gold.

Below the portrait is a representation of the national flag of Tokelau.

The reverse design features a depiction of King George VI in the background and his daughter - Queen Elizabeth II - in the foreground.

The lower edge of the coin is decorated with symbols of the British monarchy: Saint Edward's Crown and detailed floral elements representing the floral emblems of the constituent countries of the United Kingdom - England (rose), Scotland (thistle), Wales (daffodil) and Northern Ireland (shamrock).

At the base of the crown, a diamond is inserted into the coin.
