The monarchy of Tuvalu (the Tuvaluan monarchy) is a system of government in which a hereditary monarch (shared with a number of other countries of the Commonwealth) is the sovereign and head of state of Tuvalu. Queen Elizabeth II was the monarch of the country from 16 September 1975 until her death on 8 September 2022. The Queen's constitutional roles were mostly delegated to the Governor-General of Tuvalu.
Royal succession is governed by the English Act of Settlement of 1701, which is part of constitutional law. |
