Silver Half Kilo 2011 HMS Bounty, Coin from Cook Islands - detailed information

The bar is uniface (the obverse is blank).

The design shows at its centre the crowned bust of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a pearl necklace, facing right (her effigy known as the "Third Portrait", by Raphael David Maklouf). The designer's initials are usually incuse in tiny letters on the neck truncation when this portrait is used, but they are not displayed here.

Around the effigy are the monarch's legend, the face value, and the date: ELIZABETH II 15 DOLLARS COOK ISLANDS 2011.

Above the effigy, on three lines the inscription specifying the precious metal content: 500 g COIN FINE SILVER .999.

Below the effigy is depicted the sailing ship HMS Bounty (also known as HMAV Bounty), sailing to left, flying the British ensign.

Below that, the logo of the manufacturer, which depicts the small figure of a man pouring molten metal, and the inscription HEIMERLE + MEULE, below which on two lines Gold and Silver Refinery established in 1845, Pforzheim.

No primary information is available for this coin series. It seems that coins and bars are mostly issued by Sunshine Minting in the US; however, some bars have also been made with the same design by Heimerle + Meule too.
