Silver Ounce 2021 Equilibrium, Coin from Tokelau - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend, the date of issue and the value: ELIZABETH II - TOKELAU 2021 5 DOLLARS.

The background is patterned with thin curved lines. The date of issue 2021 is divided by the portrait. Divided year of issue is one of the distinguishing features of the historical Pressburg Mint, after which the modern mint is named.

The design uses the approach of balancing matte and polished lines to create a visual effect representing the yin-yang symbol at the centre of the reverse.

Around above, the name of the series - EQUILIBRIUM. Around below, the metal content: 1 oz FINE SILVER 9999 (one troy ounce of 99.99% silver).
