Gold Ounce Bar 2024 Gothic Crown, Coin from United Kingdom - detailed information

At its centre, the obverse design represents the three nations brought together by the Act of Union in 1801 and depicts a crowned cruciform (in a cross pattern) shields bearing the three lions passant of England (twice, in positions 1 and 3), the lion rampant of Scotland (2), and the harp of Ireland (4). The shields are contained within a deeply tressured circular panel. In the angles are two roses, a shamrock and a thistle - the national plants of England, Scotland and Ireland respectively. In the centre there is a four-leafed flower. In the middle of that, the Garter of the Order of the Garter.

The rest of the surface features floral motifs inspired by this design, with the three national flowers repeated again in the four corners, with a different flower below right.

Vertically along both of the long rims is repeated the Latin inscription (as on the Gothic Crown) TUEATUR UNITA DEUS - May God guard these United (Kingdoms), followed by ANNO DOM MMXXIV (Year of the Lord 2024).

The reverse of the bar shows at its centre the Gothic portrait of Queen Victoria by William Wyon, depicting a young queen, crowned, with braided hair, wearing a dress decorated with rose, thistle and shamrock - the national plants of the constituent nations of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland and Ireland respectively).

Above, the logo of the Royal Mint, which incorporates a crowned Shield of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom. On three lines to its right, The Royal Mint ®.

On two lines below, the precious metal content: 1 oz 999.9 fine gold (one ounce of 99.99% gold), written in Gothic script.

Below that, a unique serial number.

The rim is decorated with floral motifs similar to those on the Gothic Crown coin. The background is textured with microdots.
