Silver Five Grams 2019 Batman Anniversary, Coin from Niue - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend, the date of issue and the value: ELIZABETH II NIUE ONE DOLLAR 2019.

The background is patterned with the logo of the New Zealand Mint: NEW ZEALAND MINT on two lines, above which the stars of the Southern Cross constellation. The design has the appearance of a torn sheet of paper, the upper quarter of which reveals beneath it a scene from a Batman comic book.

The reverse is coloured and depicts comics character Batman and his car, the Batmobile, as seen in the Dark Knight, on a background of comics scenes.
