Niue, a sovereign state in free association with New Zealand, uses two official legal tender currencies. The New Zealand Dollar is the circulation currency for daily transactions, while the government also authorises legal tender coins in the Niue Dollar currency for collector's purposes.

A number of mints issue a large variety of commemorative, bullion and collector coins under the authority of Niue. These coins are dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to Niue itself. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). Many of these feature famous movie characters.

Naturally, Robin the Boy Wonder features in our Faces of Gotham Coin Collection for DC! This 1oz pure silver coin shows Batman’s trusty sidekick, and is uniquely shaped and coloured to replicate his face with 3D detail.

On the obverse side is the Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, to confirm it as legal tender. The coin arrives in a specially moulded acrylic capsule to allow for safe handling. It is nestled in plush blue velvet in a themed rectangular case, with a window for easy display. A Certificate of Authenticity is on the back, featuring the coin’s unique number.
