Silver Ounce 2022 Faces of Gotham - Batman, Coin from Niue - detailed information

Niue, a sovereign state in free association with New Zealand, uses two official legal tender currencies. The New Zealand Dollar is the circulation currency for daily transactions, while the government also authorises legal tender coins in the Niue Dollar currency for collector's purposes.

A number of mints issue a large variety of commemorative, bullion and collector coins under the authority of Niue. These coins are dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to Niue itself. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). Many of these feature famous movie characters.

This is the first coin in our Faces of Gotham Coin Collection for DC. This 1oz pure silver coin is uniquely shaped and coloured to replicate the distinctive face of Batman. The relief added to the cowl gives it a more 3D feel.

The Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II can be found on the obverse of the coin to confirm it as a legal tender. The coin has a protective acrylic case to allow for handling of this precious collectible. It arrives inside a sleek and stylish, themed rectangular case, which incorporates a window for easy display. A Certificate of Authenticity can be found on the back along with the coin’s unique number in the mintage.
