Silver Ounce 2021 Queen Elizabeth II Birthday, Coin from Niue - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Around the effigy is the monarch's legend, the date of issue and the value: ELIZABETH II · NIUE 2021 · ONE DOLLAR · 1 OZ 999 SILVER ·.

The inscription also includes the precious metal content; "1 OZ 999 SILVER" means "one troy ounce of 99.9% silver".

At its centre, the reverse of the shows the young crowned Queen
Elizabeth II, at her coronation. She is framed by a garland of flowers - thistle, shamrock, rose and daffodil - the floral emblems of the four constituent countries of the United Kingdom - Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, and Wales respectively.

Below left, the crowned Lion of England. Below right, the chained Unicorn of Scotland.

Around above, the inscription QUEEN ELIZABETH II; in a ribbon below, the year of her birth: 1926.
