Silver Ounce (2015) Vivat Humanitas, Coin from Slovakia - detailed information

Apart from regular circulating coinage, Slovakia has mints that produce bullion which is not legal tender and is targeted at investors and not at coin collectors - such as this one.

This is the first issue in the Vivat Humanitas (long live humanity) series issued by the Pressburg Mint based in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. This first design is a "silver round" (bullion which is not legal tender) - called a "medallion" by the mint.The series then continued as coins which have legal tender status in Tokelau.

The mint says about the design:
"You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty." - Mahatma Ghandi

The medallion is minted using LBMA-certified 1oz 999/1000 silver blanks, undergoing a thorough cleaning process before striking, ensuring proof-quality specimens.
