Silver Ounce 2021 Coat of Arms - Kangaroo, Coin from Australia - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows, in a small circle on the left, the crowned old head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem crown and the Victoria Coronation necklace worn for her Coronation. This is her effigy known as the "Fifth Portrait" worldwide and "Sixth Portrait" in Australia, in "uncouped" version - showing the Queen's shoulders and not terminating at the neck as the normal version. On the left, in small letters on the Queen's shoulder, the artist's initials J.C (for Jody Clark). Around above, the monarch's legend and the date of issue: ELIZABETH II · AUSTRALIA 2021.

Most of the obverse is taken by the image of an emu (one of the supporters of the Australian Coat of Arms), protecting its clutch of eggs on the ground. In the background, wattle (Australian vegetation). Behind the emu, the seven-pointed Federation Star of Australia.

In a ribbon below, the precious metal content: 1 OUNCE .999 Ag (one troy ounce of 99.9% silver; Ag is abbreviated from Argentum, the Latin word for silver).

The reverse design features a kangaroo carrying a joey in its pouch. The the left of the kangaroo, the Commonwealth Star (also known as the Federation Star). It is seven-pointed, with the six of the points being symbols of the original six states in the Federation, and the seventh point representing the territories and any potential future states.

Behind the kangaroo is flowering vegetation, which includes the floral emblem of each state. The designer's logo, a stylised A over B (for Aaron Baggio) is below right.

The face value and denomination, ONE DOLLAR, is on two lines in a shield to the right of the kangaroo.
