The coin's reverse depicts at centre a representation of the RSL badge, a shield showing four marching veterans - three men and one woman, surrounded by the inscription RETURNED SERVICES LEAGUE. On a ribbon below, AUSTRALIA. Above the central design of the shield of the badge, a wattle as a symbol of Australia and a leek, rose, thistle and shamrock representing the link with Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland respectively. The shield is crowned with the Crown of Saint Edward, a symbol of the British monarchy.
On the left and right, the anniversary dates 1916 and 2016. Around above, the inscription RSL CENTENARY. Around below, LEST WE FORGET; above that, in small letters the precious metal content: 1/4oz 9999 GOLD (one quarter of a troy ounce of 99.99% gold).
