Silver Ounce 2023 Beavis and Butt-Head - Cornholio, Coin from Niue - detailed information

Niue, a sovereign state in free association with New Zealand, uses two official legal tender currencies. The New Zealand Dollar is the circulation currency for daily transactions, while the government also authorises legal tender coins in the Niue Dollar currency for collector's purposes.

A number of mints issue a large variety of commemorative, bullion and collector coins under the authority of Niue. These coins are dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to Niue itself. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). Many of these feature famous movie characters.

This coloured and specially shaped silver coin was issued to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the iconic Beavis and Butt-Head animated comedy series, and depicts one of the two main characters - Beavis, in his hyper-active alter ego Cornholio.

When Beavis consumes large quantities of sugar, caffeine and other stimulants, he will begin to exhibit symptoms of convulsions, rapidly shake his head, and gaze cross-eyed at his own fist.

When Beavis turns into Cornholio, he will raise his forearms in a 90-degree angle next to his chest, pull his shirt over his head, and then begin to yell or scream erratically, producing a stream of gibberish and strange noises. Cornholio tends to wander aimlessly while reciting “I am Cornholio! I need TP for my bunghole!”
