Silver Ounce (x4) 2022 Year of the Tiger Quadrant, Coin from Tuvalu - detailed information

The obverse of each coin shows at its centre the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the "Fourth Portrait"). The Queen wears the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty's grandmother) in 1947 - which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.

In tiny letters below the head, the artist's initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley).

Above the effigy, on two lines the inscription 2022 ELIZABETH II. Around below, 1 oz 9999 Ag TUVALU 1 DOLLAR; "1 oz Ag" means "one troy ounce of silver" - Ag is abbreviated from Argentum, the Latin word for silver.

The four legal tender pieces in the set each show one quadrant of a coloured composition portraying tigers in a tropical rainforest. The top coin depicts a tiger balanced on the limb of a dead tree. The right-hand coin depicts a roaring tiger prowling on a riverbank. The bottom coin depicts a tiger lying majestically on rocks. The left-hand coin depicts a tiger with a waterfall in the background.

The four pictures make one connected whole, with some images continuing into neighbouring pieces.

Additionally, the reverse of each coin incorporates The Perth Mint’s P mint mark, and the designer's initials LB (for Lucas Bowers).

There are no inscriptions.
