Silver Ounce 2024 Chinese Myths and Legends - Dragon Rectangle, Coin from Australia - detailed information

The obverse of the coin displays the bust of King Charles III, which depicts him bare-headed (uncrowned) and wearing a suit and tie, facing left.

Below the shoulder truncation in tiny letters, the artist's initials DT (for Dan Thorne).

Above the effigy is the monarch's legend, on two lines separated by a horizontal line: CHARLES III AUSTRALIA.

Below the effigy, also on two lines separated by a horizontal line, the face value 1 DOLLAR and the precious metal content: 1oz 9999 Ag (one troy ounce of 99.99% silver; Ag is abbreviated from Argentum, the Latin word for silver).

The coin portrays an oriental dragon eyeing a flaming pearl, a symbol of wisdom. The background includes representations of water over which the dragon has control, and clouds, omens of good luck.

On the left, the Perth Mint's mint mark P125 - a special mint mark celebrating the mint's 125th anniversary. On the dragon's tail below, the designer's initials WR (for Wade Robinson).
