Gold Tenth-Ounce 2023 The Witcher - Blood of Elves, Coin from Niue - detailed information

The obverse of the coin features the official Public Seal of Niue.

It has an inner circle of hiapo designs, representing the fonua (land), within which are stylised designs of a tree, representing life and tagata Niue (the people of Niue), surrounded by an outer circle in the form of a traditional Niuean garland of 14 seashells (representing the 14 villages of Niue), and crowned with St Edward's Crown (of the United Kingdom), representing the sovereign as head of state.

Around above between the two circles, the inscription PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE. Below, a ribbon carries the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI on two lines (meaning "God, Niue Eternally"), below which two crossed katoua (Niue fighting clubs).

Around above, the face value 10 DOLLARS, followed by the name of the country and the date of issue: NIUE 2023. Around below, the precious metal content 1/10 OZ 999.9 GOLD (one tenth of a troy ounce of 99.99% gold).

The seal and inscriptions are in a small circle above. The rest of the surface is taken by symbols connected with the journey of Geralt and Dandelion in The Witcher series - a wolf with windswept fur symbolising Geralt of Rivia - the White Wolf, the Witcher’s sword, and a lute - the beloved instrument of Dandelion.

The reverse side of the coin features book character Rience - a Nilfgaard sorcerer, an agent of Vilgefortz, a former spy of Kaedweniana's intelligence service. In the book, he was tasked with finding Ciri and died during the pursuit of her.
