Silver Three Ounces 2023 Star Wars - Darth Vader, Coin from Niue - detailed information

The obverse of the coin features the (unofficial) "Public Seal of Niue". It has what looks like a plant arrangement at centre, within a double ornamental circle, itself surrounded by a circle of sea shells. This is crowned with St Edward's Crown (a symbol of the United Kingdom, the monarch of which is ultimately the Head of State of Niue).

Around above between the two, the inscription PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE. Below that, a ribbon carries the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI on two lines, below which two crossed katoua (Niue fighting clubs).

Around above, the face value TEN DOLLARS. Around below, the date of issue 2023.

The reverse of the coin is coloured and shows dark lord Darth Vader raising his lightsabre. Below, a scene where he fight Luke Skywalker. Separated from this by a non-coloured depiction of two hands holding a lightsabre, on the right is the official 40th anniversary emblem; it shows Darth Vader's famous mask and the inscription 40 above that, and RETURN OF THE JEDI below it.

In small letters around left, the precious metal content 3 oz 9999 Fine Silver (three troy ounces of 99.99% silver), followed by the copyright acknowledgement: © & ™ Lucasfilm Ltd.
