Silver Two Ounces 1992 Australian Kookaburra, Proof, Coin from Australia - detailed information

The obverse of the coin shows the crowned bust of Queen Elizabeth II, facing right (her effigy known as the "Third Portrait"). The Queen is wearing the royal diadem which she used to wear on her way to and from the State Opening of Parliament, a pearl necklace and earrings.

Incuse in tiny letters on the neck truncation, the designer's initials RDM (for Raphael David Maklouf).

Around, the monarch's legend and the face value: ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA · 2 DOLLARS ·.

Within a beaded border, the reverse design of the coin shows a kookaburra bird feeding its young, which are in a tree hollow.

Around left, the inscription THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA. Around right, the precious metal content: 2 OZ 999 SILVER (two troy ounces of 99.9% silver).

Below, the date of issue · 1992 ·; the Perth Mint's P mint mark is in the shrubbery above the date.

The Perth Mint only provides a total mintage figure, not broken down into varieties. However, the mintage limit of 5,000 is listed as "sold out", and the NAA special release coins have certificate numbers between 4,501 and 5,000 so apparently they are included in the total and were completely sold out too. This probably also applies to those with the Adelaide Pound privy mark. Neither of them is mentioned in the mint's sales report.
