Silver Two Ounces 2020 Australian Kookaburra, Coin from Australia - detailed information

At the centre of the obverse is a depiction of the first coins of the Australian Kookaburra series, showing the bird perched on the branch of an Australian eucalyptus tree.

In a small circle above that is the crowned old head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem crown and the Victoria Coronation necklace worn for her Coronation. This is her effigy known as the "Fifth Portrait" worldwide and "Sixth Portrait" in Australia, in "uncouped" version - showing the Queen's shoulders and not terminating at the neck as the normal version. On the left, in small letters on the Queen's shoulder, the artist's initials J.C (for Jody Clark).

Between the two circles, on the left and right, the anniversary dates of the coin series, 1990 and 2020.

Around the rim, interrupted by the Queen's portrait, the monarch's legend and the face value: ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA · 2 DOLLARS ·.

The rim (as well as the whole edge) is gilded.

The reverse of the coin depicts a laughing Australian kookaburra perched on a corrugated iron roof, under the stylised rays of the rising sun just showing above the roof top. The bird is plated with 24-karat gold.

The designer's initials JM (for Jennifer McKenna) are to the right of the bird. Below left, the Perth Mint's traditional P mint mark.

Around above, the name of the coin series: AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA.

Around below, the inscription 30TH ANNIVERSARY; around below right, the precious metal content: 2oz 9999 SILVER (two troy ounces of 99.99% silver).
