Silver Ounce 2022 Star Wars - The Mandalorian, Coin from Niue - detailed information

Niue, a sovereign state in free association with New Zealand, uses two official legal tender currencies. The New Zealand Dollar is the circulation currency for daily transactions, while the government also authorises legal tender coins in the Niue Dollar currency for collector's purposes.

A number of mints issue a large variety of commemorative, bullion and collector coins under the authority of Niue. These coins are dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to Niue itself. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). Many of these feature famous movie characters.

This one-of-a-kind piece features the legendary bounty hunter, Din Djarin (more popularly known as The Mandalorian) displaying strength and resilience as he pushes his way forward despite the heavy baggage on his shoulders - including the adorable, yet mischievous, Grogu! The engraved phrase "This is more than I signed up for" sits alongside the Mandalorian’s Mudhorn signet – both perfectly complementing this coloured image. The addition of an engraved masthead rounds off the coin design.

In contrast, the obverse simply shows the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, to confirm it as a legal tender coin. A full 1oz of pure silver, each coin is fully encapsulated in a Star Wars-branded case, ideal for showing off your love for all things Mandalorian. A Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the box next to the coin’s unique number in the limited mintage of 2,000.
