Silver Ounce 2022 Star Wars - Mandalorian: Boba Fett Poster, Coin from Niue - detailed information

Niue, a sovereign state in free association with New Zealand, uses two official legal tender currencies. The New Zealand Dollar is the circulation currency for daily transactions, while the government also authorises legal tender coins in the Niue Dollar currency for collector's purposes.

A number of mints issue a large variety of commemorative, bullion and collector coins under the authority of Niue. These coins are dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to Niue itself. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). Many of these feature famous movie characters.

This rectangular coin (silver bar) is part of New Zealand Mint collection dedicated to characters and themes from the Star Wars series of movies, and a mini-series within it featuring rectangular posters from The Mandalorian; it shows character Boba Fett.

The Mint says about it:
An unaltered genetic clone of his father, Jango Fett, Boba Fett is regarded as one of the most fearsome and powerful bounty hunters in the galaxy.

Officially licensed, this special piece features the cunning warrior, in colour, with his intimidating Mandalorian armour and deadly weaponry. The engraved phrase "Boba Fett Lives" sits alongside his Mythosaur signet, and an engraved masthead rounds off the coin design. To confirm it is legal tender, the obverse of the coin shows the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Each antiqued 1oz pure silver coin is stored inside a Star Wars branded case. A Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the box next to the coin’s unique number in the limited mintage of 2,000.
