Niue, a sovereign state in free association with New Zealand, uses two official legal tender currencies. The New Zealand Dollar is the circulation currency for daily transactions, while the government also authorises legal tender coins in the Niue Dollar currency for collector's purposes.
A number of mints issue a large variety of commemorative, bullion and collector coins under the authority of Niue. These coins are dedicated to historical or general popular culture themes not related to Niue itself. Many of them are in standard bullion sizes - typically, one ounce of silver (abbreviated as 1 oz Ag, where "Ag" comes from the Latin word for silver, Argentum). Many of these feature famous famous movie characters.
This coin is part of a New Zealand Mint series featuring characters and themes from the Star Wars movie saga, and shows Hunter of Clone Force 99, also known as The Bad Batch.
The Mint says about it: Clone Force 99 are an elite squad of clone commandos, with their own unique abilities. The first soldier to appear in the Star Wars: The Bad Batch limited-edition coin series is the group’s leader, Hunter.
This 1oz pure silver piece shows a coloured image of the strong yet stoic fighter in his armour, holding his personal Vibroblade. This colourisation beautifully contrasts against the mirror background. The officially licensed coin arrives in a Star Wars themed box which features powerful images of the entire squad. Printed at the back of the box is the Certificate of Authenticity, the coin’s specifications, and unique number in the mintage of 3,000. |
